JuanScan is a tiny indie app. There's no chatbot, no ticket system, and no automated reply. When you write to us, a human reads it — usually the same day.

Common questions

I forgot my PIN.

There is no PIN recovery. The encryption is real — the only way the vault decrypts is with the correct PIN-derived key. The "Forgot PIN? Reset" link on the unlock screen wipes everything and starts fresh. We do this because if we COULD recover your PIN, the encryption claim would be a lie.

I got a new phone.

If you have iCloud Backup enabled and restored your new phone from the backup, JuanScan and all your encrypted documents come with you. You'll need to enter your PIN to unlock. If you didn't have iCloud Backup on, the vault is device-bound — your documents stayed on the old phone.

A scan was misclassified.

In the confirm screen right after scanning, tap the document type chip to change it. If you already saved it, open the document from its current drawer and tap the type tag at the top — you can move it to a different drawer there.

Renewal reminders aren't firing.

Check Settings → Notifications → JuanScan and make sure alerts are allowed. If you restored your phone from an iCloud backup recently, iOS sometimes wipes scheduled notifications during the restore — opening JuanScan once forces a re-sync.

How do I delete everything?

You tab → Erase everything. This wipes the vault, the PIN, and the profile from your phone in one tap. No confirmation email, no delay — it's irreversible.
